Meet Our Team

Gary Henricksen | President, Owner, Consultant
For the last 10 years I’ve been teaching nonprofits how to raise money through direct mail and email. As board chair for the Keene, NH YMCA I lead a $10 million campaign to build a new Y. I’m the Treasurer and Conference Co-Chair for AFP-NNE and I’ve served as Vice Chair of the Grace Cottage Hospital Foundation, and help Land for Good as a member of their Board of advisors. I started my career as an engineer in Silicon Valley and then spent 25 years marketing technology companies. I love working with fundraisers and speaking at conferences on fundraising. LinkedIn.
Sarah Gnerre | VP of Philanthropy, Fundraising Performance Consultant
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of leading outstanding teams focused on changing lives for the better. Most recently I served as vice president of development at Anna Jaques Hospital, completing a $6.5 million capital campaign and winning major grants from the Cummings Foundation, the Tower Foundation and the Massachusetts Department of Health and Human Services. I personally solicited donors nationally and managed major gifts programs at Bentley University and the University of New Hampshire. I served as director of development at The Music Hall (Portsmouth), New Hampshire Symphony and New Hampshire SPCA. My volunteer board service includes USA Yoga Federation, Association of Fundraising Professionals Northern New England, Arts in Reach, Pontine Movement Theatre, and John Greenleaf Whittier Home Association, among others.
Darin Shaw | Development Copywriter
There is no feeling like connecting donors to causes they are passionate about. I joined Five Maples to help fundraisers raise money to support important missions and accomplish vital work. I’m an ordained minister with an M.Div. and I served 21 years in pastoral ministry before trading pulpit for pen.
Dawn Brennan | Client Project Manager
Having been with Five Maples since 2013 assisting clients with organizing their appeals, I specialize in complex mail merges and segmentation—go ahead, challenge me! Reminiscent of my 10+ years of customer service, my favorite part of my job is the relationships I build with my clients while helping them. I recently relocated to Connecticut from Vermont, so I spend my free time exploring fun things to do with my family in our new state—except skiing or snowboarding. I’m one of the few life-long New Englanders who has never tried. LinkedIn.
Elyse Carter | Client Project Manager, Content Creator
Working at Five Maples lets me combine my 18+ years of experience in customer service with learning more about all the amazing organizations in my community. Writing has always been a passion of mine—I actually looked forward to the analytical writing that was required of me to attain my Bachelor’s degree in history. I love transferring and adjusting my writing skills to produce a variety of marketing content for Five Maples, and fundraising letters, emails, and other projects for clients. I am recently certified in the Strategy of Content Marketing through UCDavis. Outside of work, I always enjoy a book on the Civil War, some muddy four-wheeling in my off-road vehicle, and fighting the battle to end orca and cetacean captivity at marine parks.
Kayla Hornbrook | Client Project Manager
I joined Five Maples in 2016, bringing a background in scheduling, planning, training, and bookkeeping. In addition to my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Keene State College, I’ve become a Certified Direct Mail Professional, making me better able to assist nonprofits in improving the lives in their communities. I spend my free time with my son, Niko, and am also an avid social justice and humanitarian advocate. I also learned how to indoor rock climb, and after a slow first descent, I’ve conquered my fear of heights. LinkedIn.
Ginny Ricker | Accounts Payable & Receivable, Client Project Manager
After many years of working for commercial printers, I transitioned to Five Maples where I assist clients with their mailing projects as well as handle accounts payable and receivables. I have gotten to know some really great people and no day is ever exactly the same. When I’m not performing my duties as Treasurer of a small nonprofit, I’m reading mysteries, “gardening” (more like digging in the dirt and hoping the plants grow), and monitoring my cat’s Facebook page.
Cody Brown | Data Processor Supervisor
At Five Maples, I juggle coordinating IT efforts, managing the Data Processing team, as well as maintaining our website. I love the challenge of making our variable data printing as unique as possible through working with the data and solving programming problems. Outside of work, I am hiking, shooting, or saving the world (from my Xbox). You can find me at a heavy metal show by following my laugh—it earned me the “Best Laugh” superlative in high school. LinkedIn.
Mike Logerfo | Data Processor, Graphic Designer
Handling data and design work gives me the unique opportunity to be hands on with a project from concept to actual physical piece. I strive to create eye-catching pieces that help engage with donors and tackle data problems to produce the best results. There is a certain joy holding the final printed piece and knowing it will help nonprofits and companies grow. Also look for me at karaoke night—I can do a mean cover of the Bee Gees’ “Staying Alive.”
Doug Wilcox | Data Processor, Data Analyst
I’m a proud member of the Five Maples Data Processing team—I’ve found a place where my love of data, analytics, and all things tech is used every day. In the past, I’ve contributed statistical analysis to a hobbyist sports blog and podcast. Professional sports are my passion. How many people can say they’ve caught a home run ball hit by Red Sox legend David Ortiz at Fenway?
Michael Parker | Printshop & Digital Prepress
I bring over 35 years of experience in the offset and digital printing business, with 22 years at the same company in the Boston area. Five Maples provides me with a variety of work, and it’s always a welcome challenge when a new project comes across my desk. I love all the New England seasons (even winter)—as a native, you don’t really have a choice! I stay active since serving in the Army National Guard from 1979-1990, mountain biking and hiking, playing in a horseshoe league in the summer and a few winter bowling leagues. LinkedIn.
